Setting Intentions

Reflection and self-inquiry will lead you to aspects of your life where release, clarity and/or lessons are invited. Good starting points can include identifying patterns, challenges or opportunities for physical, emotional, spiritual, or energetic healing.

It’s a good idea to keep your intentions simple and direct. Focus on one or two core aspects, then affirm and allow the process to guide you. Phrasing can help to promote dialogue during your experience, whether with your highest self, inner child, guides, ancestors, spirit, etc.

  • A typical phrasing for an intention can be, “What is the meaning of [a certain challenge e.g. health, relationship,] what am I to learn from it, and how can I best address it, and then [add a higher cause of why you are asking for it”]

    • For example: What is the meaning of [my placing others’ needs above my own?] What am I to learn from it, and how can I best address it such that [my highest good and self-love are prioritized?]

  • Another phrasing can be, “What stands in my way to [whatever it is you wish to achieve,] and how can best address it?”

    • For example: What stands in my way to [prioritizing self-love and my highest good?]

Embodiment is a key component for grounding Intentions. Modalities to incorporate embodiment include writing, speaking, meditating, visualizing, breathwork, movement, etc.

Acknowledge and trust that the practice or ritual will take you where you need to go, not necessarily where you’re supposed to go. Welcome unexpected revelations beyond your original intention.
